Let’s Talk About Lips
Chapped lips are my vice. As a flute player and dermatology medical assistant, I religiously apply lip balm.
I am constantly finding Aquaphor samples scattered around my house, inside scrub pockets, and even my car. Aquaphor is the holy grail of dermatology. With its Vaseline-like consistency, I find it uncomfortable to practice directly after application as it is highly transferable.
Luckily, I have found a solution to this problem. My flute repairman, Clifford Tretick recommended a dermatologist approved lip balm designed by musicians, for musicians. It is called “ChopSaver.” The lip balm adequately protects and hydrates the lips without leaving a residue onto your instrument. I also learned that dermatologists recommend ChopSaver to Accutane patients, since the medication commonly causes overall skin dryness and chelitis. I no longer have to sacrifice my lip balm addiction while practicing flute each day with this product and wanted to recommend it on here in case anyone else was in the market for something like this. I have linked it below if anyone was interested!
